Default Can't install windows...

So I recently had to reformat my computer and now I can't get windows to reinstall...

I get the cd to boot up but when I have to select a drive to boot in on it only sees DISK 1 (no DISK 0). There are two identical hard drives in the machine. Even though I can't see the first hard drive it still won't let me install the OS on the second one. It gives the error "windows could not find a system volume that meets criteria."

Also the computer recognizes that the two hard drives are plugged in when I check in BIOS, but they do not show up when i go to install windows.

that is an interesting problem, maybe try one drive at a time, or disable the raid, format the drives from there and reconfigure the raid again?

I've done all that. Right now I'm just trying to get it to boot. So i'm not even using RAID.

So I still can't see the first hard drive but I can now install windows on the second. But it either crashes half way through the installation or when it's finished it won't let windows start because it says critical files are missing/corrupted and they can't be repaired.

Also I can install vista on a raid array with the two hard drives but it also won't boot up.

Right now it has no operating system. Both the hard drives are formatted. The computer was Vista.
