x64 can emulate x86 programs, so you shouldn't have too much of a problem with software.
Only real problems I've heard of were Creative's drivers. ~Gooda~

The os runs just fine. I feel the difference over 32bit but, thats also because of the amount of ram that gets recognized.

You asked if it had problems with drivers, and I answered your question...why do you say "screw that"? And no, I don't have two accounts...why? EDIT: Vista x64. People freak out if you use XP x64, but I've NEVER had a problem with it. Do yourself a favor and avoid the ridicule and get Vista x64. ~Gooda~

only problem is if you buy cheap no name brand hardware that has seldom/no driver support then you're screwed.
most software works, only ones i've seen that does not work are the ones that need low level access to the system resource, such as modifying device drivers, or modifying network access permissions. 64-bit is the future, and it should be today, but not everyone is as tech savvy as people like us, so a lot of second rate companies don't bother offering 64-bit support. 64-bit ALOT more secure (32-bit rootkits or virus alike are completely useless), and faster. but don't use it if you like to cheap out on hardware lol

You don't "emulate" something. It does it in the background.
And yes, I was folding on x64. ~Gooda~

I can definitely notice the difference from 32bit to 64bit. Not had any problems with drivers yet. It really is as good as it sounds.
