Hey searched on OCN and google but found nothing. I am trying to install a new copy of vista onto my sig rig I just built. When I go to select the partition to install it says unable to find a system volume compatable.
I tried formatting the partition, deleting the partition and creating it again and it says the same thing. I put the drivers for raid on a usb drive and am gonna try that to see if it works, any other ideas?

you could turn off RAID in your bios, since it's just one HDD, and see if that works.

I don't think he has/will have RAIN in his bios options lol but yea just set most things to defaults for you drives and turn of raid so all you HDD's are are seen as being used on their own rather than in raid. Also you could try the above except only connect the HDD which will have vista on it.

Never mind I figured it out, I didn't have one of my partitions set as primary, I used diskpart to clean the disk, then create two primary drives, one 40Gb for vista, the other 422GB for the rest/xp if I need to
Sorry for any confusion, btw I don't have raid, only one disk but thought the raid drivers might help

Just have a gander in your bios and look for whats "recognised".
Make sure you're looking in the boot section and that floppy is first and whatever else is there EXCEPT your dvd writer - is put to second for boot. Also check your secondary and third IDE sections in the bios to see whats been discovered - to make sure you havent put your sata drive in as slave and something else before it. Nemes
