Default Re-enabling an HDD
I disabled an HDD in my device manager. Everytime I try to re-enable it, windows crashes. The next time I boot, the HDD is still disabled. Does anyone know of a way to re-enable it?

Open up regedit, then go to:

HKLM\SYSTEM\MountedDevices

and delete all the entries there. Reboot your computer, and if it doesn't show up in my computer automatically try re-enabling it and it should work fine.

If that doesn't work, plug it into a different port on your motherboard.

Is that safe? I want to hear this from two people before I delete an entire subkey.

I had a peek around before I did anything, and I noticed this. (the IC35L is the one I have disabled)

Would it be better to to change that value to 0 for the IC35L?

What you all told me didn't work. All deleting those values did was reassign the drive letters (in fact it made the problem worse, because now it thinks my backup partition is a Compact Flash drive.) The HDD is still disabled.
