I'm trying to dualboot XP and Vista on my new Fujitsu T5010, so i popped in my XP install cd to partition the drive and all that jazz. However, once the CD is running and it gets to the "windows is starting" part, i get a blue screen and I have to shut down. It looks like it references a memory location, but I ran memtest for 6 hours and didnt find anything. what else could it be?

1.) Most laptops (the ones that don't come with a recovery disk) have a hidden partition where the recovery information is stored. To do what you want, you have to delete that partition (and never be able to restore again).
2.) You can not install XP after Vista is already installed. Well, you can, but not the way you are doing it. Search MS for details/directions. You have to edit both XP's and Vista's boot loaders. See See

right, of course!
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. ... technical information: *** STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)" i googled the error and got to this page from microsoft. they say it could be:

Well it's the IDE/SATA drivers that they're referring to specifically. STOP 0x0000007B == INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE. Try supplying the drivers with F6.

what drivers tho? my lappy came with restore discs and a driver and software cd. would the drivers be on that latter cd? also, when i run the install cd, i always get the error right when it says "windows is starting" so i might not even get to a driver selection screen if i f6 it. but il try and let y'all know what happens.
