Default Got Vista x64 Now what?

Alright, so i had ordered Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit. It's installed. Drivers and all. I'm a little familiar with 64bit because i did have it for XP back in 2005. I guess what i want to know is, why did i spend this money? What are my advantages. What can i use to test the abilities of my 64bit. NOTE: I still have dual boot with Vista 32bit because i lost my Gears of war disc and don't want to lose the installation just yet. LOL.

Your experience is going to be almost identical to Vista 32 apart from the increased RAM.

For Norman Bum, eureka and Outcasst. I already have DX10 and DX10 games. If you read my post you would have seen not only the mention of dual-boot with vista 32bit, but also gears of war.

However, Outcasst, you're basicly telling me theres no advantages right now? No software that will run better on 64bit?

In my extensive tests with Vista Ultimate 32bit and 64bit, 64bit has about a 33% increase in speed and performance over the 32bit counterpart. But overall, your performance increase is dependent on your hardware in your system.

For one thing security. A little while back there was a big article on DEP in Vista and how it could be bypassed completely, well not on 64bit Vista, since DEP is enforced at the hardware level, instead of the software.

I believe also, that some benchmarks have shown that 64 bit is faster than 32 bit vista even with normal every day tasks. I'll see what I can dig up for proof.

EDIT:
Quote:
The 64-bit version of Windows Vista operating system is for about 10.9 percent faster than 32-bit Vista, according to the GeekBench benchmark for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows platforms.
