Exclamation Ultimate 64 Installation HDD problem

So my first boot seems go go nicely without any problems. I put in my vista 64 bit Installation CD and boot from it to install onto my brand new 1TB Seagate HDD. Worries instantly strike me as the disc name shows up as "Disk 0 unallocated space", it does not get any better when I choose to install vista on it and click next. Because what i get then, is " Windows is unable to install to the selected location. Error: 0x8007000d."

And that's as far as I got.... I would really like to solve this problem (no kidding)....

Pretty please?...

That usually means it couldn't read off the DVD. Clean any dirt off your DVD and try again. It could also be your DVD drive.

Ok do you mean this one (picture).
How big should I make the number then? The default is set to 953869MB (while the listed "total size" shows 931.5GB)

Note: THIS PICTURE IS FROM GOOGLE IMAGES, NOT MINE.

EDIT: ok ok ok..... so I understand I'm in a "duh!" position, but I kinda wanna know what number to put there :P

Yep. Make the size the size of the disk (I believe the default is the size of the drive, though of course a 1TB drive won't have a full 1TB for use).

Ok thanks, I've done that, don't I need to format though? (even though disk is new?...), you know, before I install vista...

Won't hurt to hit format. Then just hit new.

Yaaay installation initiated! Wish me good luck xD
I'm just a kid, you know, if anything additional goes wrong now I'm gonna totally freak out or something (maybe)...

Holy shait, I didn't know that a 28 inch screen would be this dominant xD

OK enough off topic

thanks for all the help so far, now I'm just gonna chill out and listen to some music while it installs ^^,

Haha, hey man, no worries. I freaked out when my new HD came and didn't work and did the same thing you did.
