Windows XP uses a lot more system memory compared to Win 98
Farcry also uses a lot of memory. When you play farcry in XP, you quickly run out of memory and the info is being written to the hard drive which slows things down.

Hope that helps.

Well, i was really talking about all that junk that loads up in task manager. Nevertheless, very nice rig you have there.

The official requirements for Windows XP are a 233mhz processor and 128MB RAM. Though, I would think a 233mhz processor would be really, really slow on XP.

See: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/sysreqs/pro.mspx

Although, with your system Legendary, I would stick with Windows 98SE. I love Windows 98SE, its probably the best overall OS for PC running a 133Mhz to 1Ghz processor.
