i'd just use vista x64 tbh

really rewards you if you have the system to run it properly

I play Left 4 Dead and Dead Space on Windows 7, so far 15 hours of no hicupps. W7 feels light on resources and run flawless so far with the second rig.

If you refuse to use windows 7 then get 64bit vista. Windows 7 is a much better experience though.

I am just saying, there is no way I would buy any OS after just being released firstly, secondly its still only Beta with Limited Game compatibility I am sure.


man.. I am really just flat out getting annoyed, as I want to build a nice machine here, but people telling me to ditch my DDR3 and find a buyer...

You don't have to take advice. Do what you think is best. Anyway, yes you can't play punkbuster protected games on W7 - this is a fault of PB not W7. Most other games seem to work okay though.

It is not that i am not taking advice, I just know that there is no Warhammer Online support for windows 7.

Windows 7 will most likely be in my future though after it has been truly released to the public.

Why do people keep saying this?

Since the release of Vista 64, there have been absolutely no issues with getting drivers for XP64. I've been running it for over a year and every single driver update for hardware has had both vista and XP 64 driver launches simultaneously.

I have two identical systems (see my sig rig), one running XP64 and the other Vista 64.

Comparing XP64 and vista 64 side by side in benchmarks is not a good idea. XP64 wins every time

Well, I have used XP x64 and couldn't find drivers for my wireless USB adapter or my scanner - both of which have Vista x64 drivers. Peoples experience varies. And its not xp x64's fault but manufacturers.

Ah well that is possible, what brand of scanner? I have an HP multifunction and driver support was complete upon release.
