I use the CPU/RAM meter, the currency converter, the weather gadget, a clock, and the F@H gadget from EOC.
I like my sidebar

F@H gadget? May I see??
I don't find it really that space consuming even using my laptop. I really like it. I find using Rainmeter and Rainlendar annoying, since ith as so much stuff that I can't find something I like and I end up wating hours.

F@h gadget, All cpu meter (RAM and cores -dual and Quad) and Uptime meter
  Oh, FYI for those who don't like the sidebar, but do -at least- in theory- like the gadgets' desktop notification features... M$ undocked them for W7 so... no more annoying sidebar- Just gadgets anywhere you want them on your desktop! ^^ inside joke on the at least he who knows... knows [edit] vv ImK my sidebar runs just fine maybe you need moare or faster memory!

If Vista's sidebar ran better and used less RAM, I might use it. But for now, I use RainMeter with HUD.Vision.

Wow, not much love for Vista Sidebar huh? I absolutly love mines. I have my Everest Ultimate gadget, all CPU meter (quad-core), Network Meter and my F@H gadget. I had the one with shutdown, suspend... etc. but i removed it for Folding!t
