arrent they just saying it "would likely harm your computer" because its like installing an illegal copy of win xp? Its not very clear but they do say (pcworld ) its a good preview of what will be in sp3 although microsoft said at this time there is no preview of sp3 and it will release after windows vista 2006.

The real sp3 is not due out untill after the vista launch in 06. I think that the sp3 avalible is not from microsoft, and therefore they don't guggest installing it.

After they launch Vista, Xp will be on the back burner for priority updates, they did the same thing with all the other windows programs when Xp came out.

I was initially suspicious of SP2 but eventually broke down and installed it. I've had no issues whatsoever ( I do have legal copies of xp though, someone I know that didn't installed sp2 and had a bunch of problems).

I didn't install SP2 for quite a while b/c I knew it had issues with the game I was playing at the time, but they fixed it after a while, then I installed it, no troubles here.
