Default Best way to format for WinXP?

Which is the best way to format for WinXP?
perhaps..

1. use startup disk
2. type "format c: /fs:ntfs" ?

Just add the startup disk, follow the prompts and it will format the Hard Drive for you. If it's not a bootable cd, d/l the startup floppy disks from the Microsoft website and then put the cd in when prompted.

just boot from the windows xp cd, delete all partitions and rewrite your new partition...
