I recently created a new partition on the same harddrive and I notice a performance increased. Like before I created a new partition the windows are using one partition only and after I created a new partition the computer actually boot up faster and the program on my computer are faster too and I don't know why. I guess it is because there are not as many fragmentation after I have created a new partition. Well, I was wondering if I should format my new partition FAT32 or NTFS. I heard that NTFS is better or something. My new partition is only 20GB large and I have heard from somewhere that it is recommended to format the partition FAT32 if it is under 20GB. This new partition is just for storage of random file that I don't use so often and there are no operating system in it. So please help me decide if I should format it NTFS or FAT32.

If your using winxp then use the NTFS. FAT32 was for the older operating systems.

NTFS is better for larger drives, while FAT32 is better for small drives. FAT32 would be better for under 20 gigs.

FAT32 is not better then NTFS on smaller drives... NTFS is a better files ystem with better freatures like dynamic disks. You should use NTFS.
