I made a bootable flash drive. I start up my pc and it boots into DOS from the flash drive.
__________________My pc has no CD drive and i need to format it and reinstall windows. The pc recognizes the flash drive as the "C:" drive. The hard drive that I want to install windows to is the "D:" drive In the root of the flash drive I have a "XP" folder and inside that are all the contents of the XP cd. My question is... What commands do i enter to format and partition my "D:" drive (the main hard drive) then i need to copy all the contents of the "XP" folder from the "C:" drive (the flash drive) to my "D:" drive (my main hard drive) then i need to execute the install file of my "D:" drive after I copy it over.

Format D: /Z:8 -- but you don't actually have to do this I'm thinking because you can just format the drive during the install process -- so try it without formatting first with that command. I'm pretty sure you can just run the setup from the flash drive without having to copy all the files the hdd. So, to do that make sure you are in the flash drive directory (or C:\) and enter: CD I386 then: winnt
