MBAM is the weapon of choice against the "Hoax AV" software.

You best bet would just be to recover data via a Linux Live CD and reformat, reinstall Windows.

Thank you. I was thinking this. I don't have any really important files on the pc. Most of what I have loaded or saved on this system is Games. Steam and a few others like crysys, COD4 bioshock to name a few. Any way I appriciate your advice and I'm glad I have my bios flash lock in my bios enabled to prevent non wanted overwriting of the bios. I just have to remember to disable the lock when ever I update my bios. goes to try to learn nlite and slipstreaming for my new install. arg.

Oh sorry guys, my bad. + Rep to you two. I was so rapped up in having the virus that my head got unscrewed. I'm back on level ground again and I just did a clean install on a back up HDD For my Sig Rig. So Now all I have to do is scan files that I'm gonna save before transfering the files to the new OS. I just have to make time to do all my driver installs now. I got hit on more then onc pc. The pc that I'm typing this on had the sound wiped out and the email properties keep getting changed so that I can't receive emails. arg. I'll beat it in the end eventually. I already have this computers HDD copy on a smaller HDD. I'll just have to run Parted Majic again to get it back to where it was a couple of months ago. SIGH To much work for me that I don't want to do. My eyes get tired very easy these days making it difficult for extended periods of time for installs.

On my Sig rig I am making Print Screens of the Task Manager for all the files that show up before I start loading any games etc etc so that I will know what files I can delete in the future if I run into any problems like this again. Additionally I will have a clean OS install w/all the drivers loaded for a quick back up solution. I hate the whole install os search for all the mobo, vga, sound, nic, wifi drivers etc etc. It takes to much time. So let this be another lesson to me learned the hard way.

Default Update:

OK I have my new os installed on my sig rig and most of my drivers installed. Well at least the ones I can think of. Here is a picture of my Task Mgr right after a clean install.

And this is how much Ram is used w/all my drivers installed. WOW.
