Windows 7 IS for all intents and purposes.... Vista. Its built on the Vista kernal, it looks like Vista. Its just a streamlined version of Vista with a few minor tweaks.

And on a second note, I used ME for almost two years and never had a problem with it.

Why not just install Windows 2k on there? Or DSL Linux? 98 is pretty arcane these days.
