Default Windows XP something came out of nowhere in my D drive(not windows installed drive)

I have my winXP installed at C and using D as my storage drive. Today...I found out that there are some files in my D drive that I do not remember putting them there nor installed there. as the following screenshot shown, I am not sure if they are safe to remove nor any idea of what they are. from one of the notepad I opened, I see its some microsoft visual 9.0 stuff but I really dont remember having anything to do with it while I was working on my computer.

might have been a Winrar extraction or a windows extraction from an update.

but I turned my windows update off...and they werent there last night, they just appeared now or earlier today. the only thing I did between last night and today was that I installed an online game that involves gameguard...could that be the cause of it?

what I dont really understand is...why D drive, where I have no application installed at all, just some of my random pictures, musics. It'd make more sense to appear in C drive lol if anybody knows why they would be there, and by the way, I have already deleted them.

When you install things like netframeworks, service packs and similar they will extract to the main root of whatever drive they are on ie. D:

Yea, you can look at the modified date on them and see exactly when they were created and try to remember what you were doing then if you want to be sure.
