Damn, all I was saying was that I think this thread is providing way more information than necessary. I mean, he has already done what he wanted to do, and so this thread should have been over a long time ago and with about 950,000 less words.
It was a simple question that needed a simple and short answer.

1: It was noted OP had at that point had WIN7 up and running and that the post for the benefit of others having a machine with a WARRANTY. Quote:
In response to that question supporting info was given for the reasons to do a DUAL-BOOT until the machine was proven to be "Good" not for the OP's benefit as he had already nuked his machine at that point but for the benefit of those "considering" nuking a new machine. Compare the info I presented with your response to the warranty question with the mindset you're a Newbie who has just bought a new machine, Or the person who's PAYING for a machine for his kid that does have a warranty and wants to retain that warranty /be able to get service without a hassle: . |

I think I'd rather let 'The Baker' answer all this for himself. Either way, this thread has been over since Post #31.

A question had been asked about how installing a OS a new PC did not ship with would affect a units warranty. The info was not for your benefit, but for someone who may be considering "nuking" a new machine's OS and that info was geared towards those who may have a warranty, are desiring to retain "hassle-free" support and service during the warranty period.) On the technical info: It was due to your comment that you did not understand the first post that supporting info was given in a attempt to paint a picture for those with a new machine that until a new machine has been run for 30-days you should run the machine in a DUAL-BOOT configuration, and have in place a plan to restore the machine to the factory OS install for the remainder of any warranty period. PS: If you guys really want to get picky- the original question could have been answered by a link to a install thread.
