Belarc Advisor Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder Everest TIP: ![]() Assuming you have a LEGAL copy of windows- EG are in possession of original install media... there is a very simple solution I've used for years to keep keys from getting "lost". ![]() The Solution: ![]() Solution I've used is to take a dental scribe, knife, or engraving tool and scratch /engrave the cd-/product key into the center section (hub area) of the disc. (This could also be done with a fine tip felt marker) This way if the disc gets separated from the jewel case/sleeve, the key is not lost. **** PROS of this method: Key is tied to disc /can never be lost.... CONS: There is a slight risk in engraving / using a dental scribe or knife of damaging the disc during the process / increased chance of the disc "cracking". - If this is a major concern... use a fine tipped permanent marker... Note to manufacturers- Why not print the key on the disc? This way the key cannot be lost.... . Last edited by WeAreNotAlone : 08-10-09 at 10:46 PM |
