Default Can't sleep or hibernate

Ever since I installed Windows 7 64-bit 13 days ago, I've only been able to successfully resume my session from hibernate or sleep twice of the 20 or so times I've tried it.

When I press the power button or space bar to wake up from hibernate or sleep, the powerlight clicks on and the fans spin up, but that's it. Nothing else happens. I have to pull the plug on the PSU to shut it down and when I restart, it gives me the option to delete restoration data which I do. Then when it restarts, it runs checkdisk but of course finds nothing wrong and resumes booting up.

Anyone else having similar problems? I'd love to be able to fix this. Windows 7 boots up in less than a minute but taking 5 seconds to resume from sleep would be so much easier.
