Microsoft attack Linux at the retail level. (Probably not 56k friendly)

Is that just for BB employees? Cause I've got an expertzone account that I might just hop on for a $10 O.S.

...that's a lot of guests. :P
and yeah, i wouldn't recommend Linux to your average Best Buy customer. they don't want to futz around with WINE. if someone comes in and WANTS a linux computer, then by all means sell it to them.

People make it sound like compiling is trivial...
Is it honestly that easy to compile 3rd party drivers? My experiences have not been as smooth. The ease of updating comparison is bogus I do agree.

Maybe it's me, but when I read a post that has as many spelling/grammar errors as his, it kind of takes away from the credibility. I'm a basic linux user who has no knowledge of compiling a driver, but I can certainly spell "does".

Its just a typo.
I'd agree if the spelling mistake clearly indicates that the poster actually doesn't know how to spell the word. Thats not true of this case.

Arrogant bastards... Reminds me of lawyers.

I love the Linux defense of "if it doesn't work, you can just code your own solution". I'm willing to bet that less than 5% of this forum (primarily bleeding-edge, computer enthusiasts) could code their own drivers. Furthermore, why bother when it already works on Windows? I've tried a number of distributions and had my fair share of headaches, and the answer from the forums always seems to be "Just do this fix, or set the program up this way, and it'll be as good as the product that's available on Windows." Why put in the effort for something that's only as good in the majority of cases? in In my experience, Linux has speed, cost, and security on it's side, and is lacking in compatibility.
I didn't get to read the slides, but I can imagine the exaggerated propaganda they're putting out. What I can tell for sure is that just because MS is wrongly pointing the finger at Linux for a number of faults, Linux isn't suddenly software's equivalent to a cure for Cancer.
