Do we have any kind of confirmation from people who have only gotten the upgrade disc of windows 7, (got the 50 dollar preorder deal)....
__________________Can I boot from the Windows 7 upgrade disc and install directly off that with some kind of verification that I owned xp? either once inside windows 7 or from the boot menu? I know you previously just had to put the old disc in the drive (Win 97 - Win xp) Anyone know how this will work?

It works, because I was trying to sell a W7 Ultimate Upgrade last time, I did the research and you can do XP -> W7 Upgrade, but you need to do a clean install.

You can't "Upgrade" it. You need to format your HDD and install 7

Yeah, the clean install works fine, and is my preference. I was just reaffiriming it. I am really looking forward to install Win7 on my SSD thats been sitting around for a couple weeks.
