Trying to install windows 7 from one partition to another

as the title says
we have the install files on a 5 gig primary partition can we boot from that and install to the remaining space on the drive?

well the drive has 2 partitions (tahts what i meant)
can i install from the smaller partition to the larger one? (dorry i explained myself badly)

you can use a cloning program to copy the partition to the larger one, but it would be easier to just shrink the spare volume and expand the current partition.
that way you won't have any chance of messing up bootmgr/bcd
|
