I am confused, are you not booting from the disc they gave you? Did you set the cd-rom as the boot priority in the bios?

You cannot upgrade from a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit OS, if that's what you're trying to do. You will need to boot from the Windows 7 CD and do a clean install.

You'll have to clean install Win7 and reinstall all your apps/data.

ye of little faith, Yes I boot from disk, I also just purchased an external HD and transferred everything to it knowing I was doing a clean install.

How ever I have tried numerous times and sometimes I get a window telling me I am missing cd/dvd drivers and some times it will continue and then let me pick partitions which I chose the one with out the Windows xp on, I get to 2% load and it errors out on me.

Erm? Is this your sig rig? Because you definitely can run 64-bit OSes on your system.
What happens when you boot from the disk?

__________________As for booting from the disk... Well I think I have a bad cd/dvd reader. Usually I get an error that says I am missing cd/dvd drivers. Well now im on my Wifes computer because this last try it let me format and delete my partitions, started installing and proptly errored out, now my computer does not have a BOOTMGR and I cant do anything. I've really screwed up this time. UPDATE: my mobo is reading an ERROR 25 and my cd-rom wont even open up to let me take the cd out
