Is EAX still not supported, just like in Vista? (Because of the removal of Directsound IIRC)

Directsound is not coming back. All recent EAX titles are utilizing openal instead of dsound anyway. If you want to enjoy older games with full EAX support then you'll need either creative alchemy or asus' fake EAX emulation.
