Alright, for some reason out of the blue today my computer started lagging like crazy. It happened when I opened Dragon Age:Origins and the game ran at 1-3 fps. I played it yesterday fine with maxed settings and no problems 60fps solid with v-sync on. Now whenever I play the game it lags to such an extent that I can't play. Checking Windows Task Manager it says I'm using 50-60% of my CPU power while idling with no programs running and none of the processes listed is using more than 4% total of my cpu power.
Any ideas as to what this is or how I can solve it? Thanks.

Nevermind, process explorer showed me that McAfee was eating up my resources and not showing up in Windows Task Manager...

McAfee IS a virus. my suggestion would be to reinstall a fresh copy of Windows and keep McAfee at least 50 yards away at all times.

Too bad it's not my decision to run it, US Navy feels it's the best program to protect my computer...

Nope, it's entirely up to them and whenever I disable it (even just disabling the on access scanner that bogs down my system) it re-enables itself automatically every 15 min or so. Gay.
