Ok, I'm beyond the boiling point right now. This all started after reapplying thermal compound (switched to AS5):
When I start the computer, i get this message: Code:
Windows has failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.
If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows Normally.
(Use the arrow keys to highlight your choice.)
Launch Startup Repair (recommended)
Start Windows Normally
Selecting Launch Startup Repair gives me a screen saying its loading windows files, but then I'm brought back to the dialog. So I figured, "Hey, I dont need anything on this machine," and put in the 7 install disc and boot to cd and get: Windows is loading files... (for the entire bar)then starting windows, then guess what!?(If you guessed another dialog your right!) Code:
Windows has failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:
1. Insert your Windows installation disc and restart your computer.
2. Choose your language settings, and then click "Next."
3. Click "Repair your computer."
If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.
Status 0xc0000225
Info: An unexpected error has occurred.
Can you guys please help me get my rig up and running? Im going to go cool down for a bit then I'll see whats been posted, thanks in advance.

Update. Apparent success in a last ditch attempt to try to identify the problem. I don't know the specifics, but I just went and loaded optimized defaults in the BIOS and it fixed it. Booted no problem. I hate Windows right now, just fyi.
I guess that fail-safe defaults cause a fail? Stupid.

your boot sequence was probably all off or something to that extent.
i don't know why but when i removed my e8400 chip a few weeks ago to install a cooler, and rebuilt and booted, i got a cmos checksum error and had to do a fail safe reload...just little annoying things that bug me the most that seem to happen for no apparent reason. i didnt have any issues but theres like no reason that should've happened. good luck

the MBR, if it was missing, he would not get that option, guys lol
What probably happened is a setting changed somehow and it caused massive instability... CMOS reset?
