But to be clear, that's 3 re-activations on the same system. Not 3 activations on 3 different systems at the same time.

Yeah, dare I say I don't think those Microsoft reps have any balls. They just take your word for it.

Hmm. I didn't know that it was good for 3 in that respect.

But I agree: it's laid back. It's almost too laid back, but that's ok because every call is silky smooth!

its stupidly layed back, but it has to be really people get screwed ova all the time and they are paying good money for it.

MS is really kind with the hole piracy they could just stop that copy of office etc from loading but they just give ppl a little notice.

as alotta ppl pay money for something and then later down the track they find that they have been lied to, so i think its just Microsoft way of support the people that got shafted.

So in other words this is a good deal. Im wanting to upgrade my mobo to a 780i soon enough though. But if i can get MS to let me do it then i think this OS is a reasonable option to paying $2xx

Technically isn't OEM only good for one mobo? I believe you can change any other component but it is tied to the mobo. (plz correct me if I'm wrong)

$2xx? But the retail version is $114.99 shipped. I know that this is an Upgrade version, but it has all the same amount of bits and bytes that the Full version has. It's just intended to be an upgrade, but you can do a full install of it after formatting your hard drive and all of that. And since you have Vista, you can actually do the in-place Upgrade if you really wanted to.

Technically, but the phone representative I talked to allowed me to take my OEM copy from one computer to another. I was retiring my old system. They knew this, but they let me do it anyway. However, the EULA states that it should not be allowed, even if you're retiring the old system.
