Default Firefox on Windows 7

So right after I installed windows 7, the first thing I installed was Firefox, and it worked, but for some reason it won't open anymore. I've re-installed it several times, restarted a few times, it just does nothing

Firefox has done that to me a few times on XP. Had to uninstall restart then install. Looks like you done that already though. Maybe try an older version.

Hmm. What I am about to recommend is very similar to what Driver Sweeper does with drivers (at least in a sense). Except, this will be like a manual sweep of Firefox. Unfortunately, I don't think this is a 100% clean sweep, but I'm pretty sure what we'll sweep is what needs to be cleaned out (it should sweep out more than the Uninstaller does). Or, I'm hoping so anyway. Oh, and this is not from experience, so I'm doing what I think I would do in this situation:
  1. Uninstall Firefox again.
  2. Check the Program Files (x86) folder for the Mozilla Firefox folder. If it's there, then permanently delete it (you can hold Shift while you choose Delete).
  3. Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefo x\Profiles. (if you copy paste this, then be sure to delete the space in the word "Firefox". I did not add this space, nor can I remove it).
  4. If this folder is still here after uninstalling, then delete the folder that has a random string ending with .default.
  5. If that ".default" folder was there, and if you deleted it, then install Firefox again and see what happens.
If it still doesn't solve the problem, then I think this is way over my head.

Get Google chrome anyway, it completely dominates Firefox. Nuff said, as soon as you install it your eyes will pop out and you wont ever ever look back to Firefox.

Right. Please stop preaching with your posts. If someone wants to use a different browser, then let them. I used Google Chrome and it was weak compared to Firefox, especially when it comes to addons. If someone is happy with a different browser, shut up and let them use it.

Once more Tweakboy, you're making up false statements.

Firefox is NOT integrated with Windows 7 at all, and especially not a Beta version.
