I've been using Vista 64 on my sig rig with no problems for a while now. every now and then the RAID 1 would get out of sync and freeze my PC, but i could avoid that by leaving the task manager open.
however, i just noticed that when i use device manager to update a driver (search for new drivers on the internet), i get a GUARANTEED freeze. i have to do a hard reset every time. anyone know what could be causing this?

Freeze when you search, or freeze when you install the updated driver you found?
If the search freezes it couldbe some kind of security setting you have set (In your Av software, Browser, Firewall, etc.)

freeze while searching. i hope it's not a security issue; i mean, the "search online for driver updates" button has the little confirmation-required shield icon on it.
could it be a network issue?
