I just upgraded from 1gb to 2gb of ram and I set my page file to 300mb and after starting WOW it jumps to 585mb. The initial size and maximum size of the page file is 300mb. How can Windows user more page file space than its allowed to. If I dissable the page file im worried that games like BF2 and mamimum settings might run out of ram on some maps.

With that much RAM you should have it set to at least 1024 MB. This would be a question for Microsoft...

That is the smallest page file i have ever seen......0_o why so tiny....
In IMHO your page file should be no less than double the capacity of your ram....especially if you have space to spare, and on a harddrive that is seperate from your primary files. I have a single 60GB harddrive ddicated to a page file.....overkill? You betcha.
