Reformat Error -need help

Hey everyone, my dad managed to messed up another one of my rigs..
__________________ This is the first time I encountered a problem like this. Everytime I would try to reformat using sony's vaio systems recovery or a copy of win xp it stops at 55% and says error. Anyone know whats wrong? ![]()

It's possible that there are some bad blocks on that HD. (I.E. bad hard drive)

The drive is partitioned 30/90 and the windows in on the 30. I took it out and just reformatted the 30 only because I use the 90 as a back up of a back up of a back up. Should I just reformat the whole drive?
