Default windows defrag problem

I have windows XP pro and having a problem defragging. I defragged and it finishes so I ran it again and it was still all choppy and unorganized as it suppose to be. I have ran it about 15 times now and every time I run it, it is still all choppy and unorganized. It seems to be that it only organizes one piece every defrag. I run scan disk before defrag every time; is there something that im doing wrong or not doing?

You should try disconnecting fromt he internet and shutting off any background applicationd like antivirus or back-up SW. Sounds like something keepd interrupting the process. Tune XP may help (a piece of free SW) google driverheaven tunexp. You can schedule a defrag before bringing up the desktop.

I use Diskeeper 9 and I have the same sentiments about it as Enterprise does with 10.

I agree with enterprise I have used diskeeper for months and it truly is THE best. You can also defrag more than disk at a time.

Thumbs up DiscKeeper Good Fragged Drive Bad

I'm DLing it now--thanks for the link!

EDIT: installed and running a defrag on a disc with only 6% free space--something windows can't do--cool! I like the interface as well--and it's fast!
