Ive got a virus called w32.alemod.f.dll ... its been attacking wininet.dll in windows\system32....Is there any way to get rid of it?

I was thinking maybe system restore, the thing is explorer.exe is disabled due to the virus.

i dont think that will be the best solution since most virus infect the restore points too. I would suggest you trying nod32 anti virus. It has a 30day trial so clean ur pc and after da u want to keep it then buy it.

scanned with nod32...found the infected file wininet.dll. i tried deleting and restarting when prompted and its still there....exlorer.exe failed to intitialize...thats the problem..!

make sure your running your aanti virus in safe mode

go into your task manager and make sure it isnt running a process when your AV tries to delete it.
AV programs wont delete a file that is running a process.....you'll have to stop the process then delete the file.

run windows in safe mode and then run nod32. i dont kno how to make the safe mode sc appear but if u dont just turn off the pc in the middle of the loading screen and there u go.
