is it possible to put paging file on USB drives and such?

No i dont think you can well from what i know. If you where thiking about running the Windows paging file of a USB drive it wouldnt work in short. The paging file is always being accesed and a USB drive wouldnt have fast enough transfer to transfer data between th OS and the pagefile so to speak.

If you fooled windows into thinking it wasnt removable, sure

I know that in Vista - you can do this by simply inserting the USB stick and telling it you want it to use it as the page file - 3 clicks, most

What exactly is the purpose of this? Haven't heard of nor considered doing this...hrm.

I never use swap space (linux), and I most likely have never paged in windows...whatever.
