Go here and download this; AMD Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 Version (exe) 1.3.1

It is the better option I think. It fixed my problem of having to start BF2, minimise it, open the task manager>processes>right click BF2> and set infinity to 0. If I didn't I would get connection errors.

I would be very careful of using this!!

Hotfix information
A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that is described in this article. Only apply it to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next Windows XP service pack that contains this hotfix.

It won't hurt anything if you don't have the "problem." It'll just increase your power consumption.

Yes, it works. I have it installed along with the Athlon X2 Drivers.

You shouldn't use the AMD drivers, but maybe Intel has the same kind of thing?

Either way...install the hotfix.
