There's other advantages to this other than just the keyboard and mouse for FPS.

With the PS2 connector, you can plug in and play DDR with dance pads when they release DDR on the Xbox 360 (E1 of 2007).

Other than that, I don't think it's really worth it since I was never that good at FPS in the first place.

I don't think the Xbox 360's controller use USB for headsets yet.

from the review i read it was basically saying it was rubbish, as most shooters on the xbox do not have the mapping to accomodate a mouse and keyboard.

looks cool but.....

Requires a wired Xbox 360 controller for the device to be detected and programmed
That sucks you pay 80 for the keyboard adapter and you need a wired controller.

XFPS 360 review (for m/kb usage, not PS2 controller usage):

Score: 1 / 5

Having played many PC FPS games, and also having used other m/kb adapters for the original Xbox, I have a good perspective of this device’s quality. I tried the XFPS 360 with three different mice: a 5-button Logitech Mx310 Optical mouse, a 3-button Logitech Optical mouse, and a 3-button Microsoft Optical mouse. The 5-button mouse didn’t work at all, the other Logitech mouse worked, but not well, and the 3-button Microsoft mouse gave the best performance of the three. I also tried the XFPS with multiple games using a variety of sensitivity settings in each game: Quake 4, Gears of War, Call of Duty 3, and Halo 2. My overall impression of the XFPS 360 is that it is very poor and definitely not worth the money.

No Dead Zone Adjustment:

Unlike the Smart Joy Frag for the Xbox, the XFPS 360 has no ability to adjust the dead zone. Because of this lack of dead zone adjustment, there is absolutely no ability to make minute adjustments to your aim. In a nutshell, small/slow mouse movements for fine tuned aiming corrections result in zero output from the game. You move your mouse and nothing happens on screen. In order to register aiming movement from the game, you must move your mouse at an adequate speed in order to escape the dead zone. This results in a very awkward, unnatural, poor gaming experience.

No Twitch Aiming:

Similar to the Smart Joy Frag for the Xbox, the XFPS 360 is very poor at registering fast mouse movements (even on very high in-game sensitivity settings). Basically, if you move your mouse too fast, the output from the game actually drops off. With the 3-button Logitech mouse that I tried, fast mouse movements resulted in very bizarre behavior, e.g. snapping the mouse in a horizontal motion resulted first, in a delay of any output from the game, and then I ended up looking at my feet. With the 3-button Microsoft mouse, fast mouse movements simply resulted in almost no output from the game.

Conclusion:

If you are a gamer who loves m/kb control, like me, then I believe you will be greatly disappointed in the XFPS 360. There is no fine tuned aiming ability and there is no fast twitch aiming ability, so honestly, what’s the point of using it. The XFPS fails miserably at providing precision control. However, if you are only a casual gamer who simply hates the 360 controllers, the XFPS (with the right mouse) will give you some degree of control. As long as your mouse movements stay within a certain speed threshold, then the XFPS will give you basic control over where you want to aim. It is not so bad that it is completely uncontrollable, in fact, with a little in game sensitivity adjustment, medium mouse movements feel somewhat natural, just don’t expect anything remotely akin to a PC.

Pros:
1) With the right hardware, you can use a Mouse and Keyboard to emulate the Xbox 360 controller
2) You can program you own custom key configuration

Cons:
1) No dead zone adjustment: resulting in no ability to perform fine tune aiming
2) No twitch response: Fast mouse movements result in delayed output, a low degree of aiming response, and also sometimes result in unpredictable aiming behavior.
3) Poor compatibility with mouse hardware: It claims to be PS/2 compatible, but that is a gross overstatement. Don’t expect your Logitech mice to work well (if at all) with this device. My Microsoft mouse worked ok, and I have also heard that the Targus Optical USB mouse works ok too.
4) Requires a wired 360 controller: Yes, a wired controller, the recharge kit wire for the wireless controller will NOT work (the only thing going through that wire is a charge). Also, be forewarned that various wired third-party controllers will not work either.
5) No wired headset communication: Even though there is a working wired controller plugged into the XFPS, and even through the Xbox 360 will respond to that controller, the wired headset will NOT work. You will need to purchase a wireless headset (which have their own set of problems and is hardly worth the money) in order to use voice communication.
6) There is only ONE custom configuration that you can set: You must overwrite your custom setting if you want to make a new one. This makes going from game to game, which often have their own unique button configurations, very annoying.
7) The default button configuration is horrible: seriously, it is bad!
The resellers that sell the XFPS have very poor return policies!!! Make sure to read the full return policy of whatever reseller you choose.
