![]() Info: So today I was playing my 360 with my friends. After we were done playing about 3 hours of Rock Band and Halo 3, I turned it off. While i was turning it off i felt the bottom and top of my 360 and it felt very hot. So i decided to try something out to try to solve the issue and make sure it will not over heat. So basically, I looked around my house for things that a normal 17 year old has (or should have). And finally i found some old poker chips. So i decided to create the tutorial around the poker chips, because they act as a sort-of jack for the Xbox 360. Lifting it up a inch or two to allow airflow on all sides of the 360. Supplies Needed:
(Step 1) Get all of your Poker Chips together and pick which ones and how many you want to use. I will be using 3x per corner for this tutorial. You can Use however many you would like. ![]() Glue 'Em Up!: (Step 2) Start out with 3 of your Poker Chips you have selected. Begin by Gluing one. Place a dot of glue in the middle of the chip and 4 dots around the outer part of the chip. Then place another chip on that one, and glue the top of the chip again. Then Glue the top of that chip and place the last chip on top of that one. Continue these steps for the rest of the chips. ![]() If you did it correctly they should look like this: ![]() (4 rows of chips, 3 chips tall) Finding the Already Placed Standoffs: (Step 3) Before you turn over your Xbox 360 to check where to put the chips, Make sure there is no disk in the tray. Now that you have made sure there is no disk in the tray, find a desk or flat surface and flip your Xbox 360 Over. You should see x4 Little Grey\Black Stand offs. This is were you will place the Poker Chips. (See Picture below) ![]() Finishing Up: (Step 4) Find the spot you want your 360 at and place the Poker Chips at the Stand offs. (See above step\picture). Now you can see that we have about one inch of space between the table and the 360. ![]() ![]() Final Thoughts: This is a great idea for opening space to the bottom of your 360 where all the components lay. It helps utilize all the air intake holes of your 360. Sure this may seem like a noobish guide, but Hopefully this little guide helps some of you defeat your cooling issues. Thanks for your Time ![]() ThePope

Nice idea... I did something like this when I realised that a load of noise was coming from vibrations going through the console into the desk.. I just stuck an old piece of foam under it (not blocking vents) and it was surprisingly effective

I just borrowed two long and two short maple building blocks from my little one's set.
Long ones under the 360 and the shorts under the brick. Pay no attention to the dust as it's long gone since the swiffer came to live with us. ![]() Oh yeah, the blower helps a little too. ![]()

On low it's just a little less noisey than the 360 and that is where I run it.
![]() Really I can't hear anything but the game going with surround or the heaphones on. I get tunnel vision so bad while gaming the house could catch fire and I would not know it. It's lived nearly 8 months longer than the first one without any extra air did. Maybe just coincidence but there's lots to be said for peace of mind.

Ghetto mods for the win! Nice job Pope. I think this site needs some more poor-mans modding tips.
