Yeah, none of us should be allowed to talk. Idk about you, but I've got a couple of gigs of photos of computers/mods/interesting ideas. (I've only got a few TB of 'regular' people pr0n)

But lets concentrate on those few gigs that we're all here for (crossed fingers)

Yes, the war is over... even Toshiba now admits that Blu-ray won, and they are planning to start backing Blu-ray...
Bah, you didn't keep it? In my opinion you should have held on to it. The heat is only an indirect cause for the failure-- It's the way the heatsinks are mounted that directly causes the problem. Here's the best explination so far:

The Red Ring Of Death: A Full Circle Explanation

...And here's a tutorial for the fix:
Xbox 360 – X-Clamp Replacement - MkIII

Lastly, there's three more motherboard revisions to be appearing soon.. If you're going to wait, I have a feeling the unified cpu/gpu unit will be a slimmer console. But don't quote me on that.

Back on the topic of the case, yeah, XCM cases are nice, but the plastic they use could be better. It's easy to cut though.. So I guess that's a plus. But I'd rather use a Xenon360 case than an XCM though (i've owned an XCM before; wasn't bad, the Xenon360 is just reworked from stock opening methods to be easier to take apart).

Only a few TB? Damn dude.... I don't store that stuff... easier to find it "on the fly"

I wouldn't have had time to try the x-clamp fix anyway....

Aww.. Well, sooner or later that's probably what I'm going to have to do.. Still chuggin' away on my launch unit. I've already replaced the stock fans in it, and I've got the AS5 (picked it up mainly for my PC; i'm getting rid of stock hsf :P).. now I just need to pick up the parts and do the drilling. (better to replace it before it causes problems anyway)

I usually buy the 1st gen of a console or device, and then wait for the slimmer version before I buy it again.
