Default Send it in or is there a fix for this?

Okay, so basically the xbox 360 doesnt read disks now and it makes a rough sound and it says unplayable disk. Ive tried 2 different games and it still says unplayable/unreadable disk. It makes the rough sound then it stops and it doesnt read. I turned the xbox off with the disk tray open not to long ago and the rings got red then i turned it off. I turn it on now and it seems to be normal but it makes the sounds now and it doesnt read disks. *** is going on?

Cool

I have the same problem but mine reads disks like 50-60% of the time. Believe it or not but there's a bearing lose in the disk tray and it stalls the turning of the disk. There's not much you can do about it so I would send it in I've done it 3 times so don't worry its totally legit. By the way you need to make sure your warranty isn't up or it'll cost ya 150$

The red rings can tell you a lot about whats going on too. Read this site and post the codes. (READ WHOLE THING ITS *VERY* HELPFUL) http://www.llamma.com/xbox360/repair...rror-codes.htm

If I recall correctly the Red Ring Of Death was caused by the xbox overheating because airflow was being blocked by the DVD drive. Maybe the heat killed it? Then you would have to send it in.

It lies down with the HDD near the floor if that makes sense, so its long way is flat not standing up.

The red ring of death can mean 138 different things depending on which lights and the code......

sign in at www.xbox.com (if you have live) then register your console and check it's info. If you don't have live then i'm not sure. Or you could skip all this and tell me about how long ago you got the system.......

Talking

OMG!!!!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS .....I feel sorry for ya man..... Although I enjoy a Xbox more you should probably invest in a PS3 so this doesn't happen again. In the mean time you should check out your red light code in the link above and maybe we can fix it.
