I need to find a 5V source on my Xbox 360 to wire some LED's to it, I'm modding it. I'll post a new thread with before, progress, and after pictures when I actually start doing it. Any way, I heard that you can connect it to the 5V Regulator. Well, the problem is, I don't know where or what that is. So maybe one of you guys know. Here's two pictures of the motherboard, if you could save it and circle the 5V Regulator in Paint or something it would be great.

So would it be all those black squares on the motherboard or what? Not only that, but that page shows 9V regulators which look the same as the 5V ones.

You can grab 5v from the USB ports, or one of the plugs on the xbox psu has 5v on it.

The red wire should be +5v.

dont know if you have the leds already but its pretty easy to buy them wired up with a small resistor in shrink wrap inline w/ the + wire on the led... then ya just wire em into a 12v source... makes it easier to mod cars that way too

It starts at 5.4V and goes up to 11.8V when you power on, so that's no good unless I use a resistor. According to that document you gave me the DVD power cable has a 5V which I can connect it to. The problem is, that wire that's supposed to be 5V according to the document says "300V" on it, so what does that mean?
Ya but that will be more expensive. I can 100 LED's for $15. It's easier but also pricier.

That is the maximum voltage that the wire is rated for.
