Default 360 + Monitor = :(

I use my 360 through a VGA on my monitor @ a silly res like 1340x780 or something.
(closest to native)

Theres ghosting at the edges of boxes/text etc.

Any idea what the problem is?

Oh my monitors native is 1440x900 @ 75hz

Thanks.

My monitor doesn't have a DVI it's a HPw19ev.

So you think it's something that can't be fixed?

Yeah I never understood why the Xbox 360 didn't support common resolutions. I had the same problem when I tried hooking it up to my monitor, too. It looked like crap, so I ended up just hooking it up to my TV again.

Non native res doesn't cause ghosting, so case isn't solved, sorry.
Agreeing with someone doesn't make their word final (no offense pook).

Any ideas?

Consoles DO support common resolutions, just that they support common resolution put out by LCD and Plasma TVs, not your PC monitors.

I get no ghosting on my 22 inch lcd 1680/1050 is the default res but i run the xbox at 1280/1024 and most games look decent only one seems to look crappy is ncca 09 but nascar 09, fight night 3, raw vs smackdown 08 all look fine. But even on ncaa09 i dont get ghosting more like jagged edges. Have you hooked your xbox360 up to live they might have a update for it i know soon as i got my 360 it already had a update.

What cable do you have? I remember I had a $20 one that looked like crap even on my 17" LCD, I then got the MS $40 one and it looked nice on my 22".
