Default Reliability of 360?

I been hearing about the RROD of Xbox 360. How frequent does that error come in the newer models of 360? That has been the only factor in why I haven't gotten 360 as well.

It used to be 30% failure rate but its probably about 10% now. These days you don't have to worry about overheating AT ALL but instead you have to worry about there fragile DVD trays.....either way you have a EXTREMELY long warranty so you don't have to worry. I can guarantee you that if you buy a Xbox 360 it will be just fine. the DVD tray red light error is due to ruff loading of the disks or repeatedly opening and closing it. So if I were you I would purchase a Xbox 360 you won't regret it!!

Let's just say that I deliberated long and hard on this when I was thinking about getting an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3.. Let's just say that I ended up buying a PS3.

Mostly from personal experiences that friends of mine have had, I have at least 3 close friends that have lost at least one 360 due to RRoD.

Same here. I would get a PS3 for the Blu Ray.

No problems with my unit after about 9 months of usage. A realative of mine has gone through about 4 units in his day since they first came out.

Mine finally died after about a year and a half. Got good use out of it and then one day, RROD.

MS handled the whole thing in less than 3 weeks. It worked out nice, but it still sucked not being able to play Madden when it first came out.
