Default 1080p on first gen 360

I have a first generation 360 without the hdmi port on the back. I do have the hd component cables, but my tv only does 1080i over component.

So to get 1080p i would need to connect it through hdmi.
Is there any way to do this without a hdmi port?

No unfortunately not, you're stuck having to buy a newer 360 in order to get HDMI connectivity.

I think microsoft makes a component to HDMI cable for the older 360s but it's so expensive it wouldn't even be worth it
