Default Stretched 1920x1080 360 Res?

Hey,

So I got the "official" 360 cable to connect my 360 to my 24" Samsung, and when I change the res in the system options to "1920x1080", it looks terrible. Half the left side is cut off from the picture. I'm using 1280x1024 right now, but it just isn't the same.

I've read up on it, and some sites say that the Xbox 360 doesn't output 1080i/p, so it's impossible to have it match up with that screen size. The best res that they suggest is 1280x1024 (what I'm using). Is this true? If so, that sucks...

Thanks for any suggestions!

EDIT: It says it supports 1080p "Also supports 480p, 720p, 1080i or 1080p", but obviously I'm doing something wrong.

If i remember correctly the 245B i have does not have the option of turning off the scaling, which in turn stretches the image, but you getting it cut off half across seems a bit weird to me really..

I just read a buyers review for the 245B samsung monitor on ebuyer.com - they were having the same problem and they said:

Quote:
I couldnt get the monitor to scale properly with the 360, edges were missing and it wouldnt run at 1920x1080.

Thankfully i found a tip on the internet that suggested i change to 1280x1024 and confirm, then change to 1920x1080 and when it asks if you would like to keep the changes select no.

Weirdly enough this works, now the monitor displays 360 games in 1080 and its awesome.
Hope this helps

Odd, I'll give that a shot now.

EDIT: Haha! It works! I love you! That's weird...why would it make you do that to get 1080? Oh well, +rep!
