fed ex lets you have a note that says leave it with a signature(which is really dumb) but ups requires if the shipper(xbox) says so.

first they leave like a door hanger which you can sign if your not gonna be there againg the next day

No, you cannot leave a note. They will just leave it there or in some cases they will return it to the center and you can go pick it up.

The driver himself is responsible for that package until it is in your possession. Not left on your back door or anywhere else. Unless you know the driver or have some agreement with the company.
