My friend's birthday is next week and he loves his Xbox 360.

He plays online and I'd like to get him a game.


He already has the typical games like GOW and Halo and COD4.


Could someone recommend me a really fun multiplayer game that is perhaps not very well known?

Left 4 Dead is a good one. 4-way co-op play is a big plus, so you and a couple others can join up with him. It's also very re-playable, because the game is set up to change just a little every time you play it.

EDIT: I also would have recommended Fallout 3, but you said that he wants a multiplayer game. There is no multiplayer in Fallout 3, though it is a badass game!

Get him an 800 Microsoft Point card, and make him buy Castle Crashers on Xbox Live Arcade. It's one of the best games I've ever played.

Or Resident Evil 5, because Co-Op is fantastic!

L4D or RE5.

I'd lean more toward RE5 though. The multiplayer is fantastic (both co-op and Mercs mode) and the single player has a ton of replay value. There is a ton of stuff to unlock and use on new playthroughs which constantly keeps the game fresh.

Yes. The main game can be played with a friend or over Xbox Live.
You can play with a friend in the same room on the same console, or via Xbox Live.

After you beat it you unlock Mercenaries Mode, which also can be played online over Xbox live.

L4D isn't very good on console, i thought the graphics were terrible.another bad thing about L4D on 360 is that its hard to have 4 of your friends on to play with at any time. and its not very good playing with randomers.

FIFA09 is good if your into football/soccer
GTA4 is funy to mess around on with friends + good single player
Forza motorsport 2 is a good single and multiplayer game if he's into racing.

i would avoid COD5 as its a dissapointment compared to COD4 in my opinion.
