What are the Live Gold features of this game other than online multiplayer?

I don't have a Gold subscription right now, but I'm considering getting one for this game. Is there anyway to get a Gold trial? I saw there were 48 hour trials going around sometime ago.

Anything that is inter-player I think will need Gold. So auctions and storefront etc. You also need Gold to upload photos to forzamotorsport.net.

^ What he said.

It was nice that you could upload pictures and videos for free in FM2, but you can't in FM3 tis be okay.. the good outweighs the bad

I am rummaging for a trial, I think I have one somewhere around here, and if I find one, you can have it. Many others likely have trial keys as well, you could ask around, because they are basically useless, except as a gift, if you already have Gold.

Edit: PM with trial key sent. Check your inbox.

Is there any reason to drift, in a career "grip" race? What do these drift points do?

If you get over 100,000 points in one lap you get an achievment. I'm on another forum where they actually host live events, such as drifting.. so this might come in handy for solo-run competitions. In normal races, it's kinda useless.

My Gamertag is the same as my OCN forum name

I added everyone who had a gamertag listed on the front page.

Except Jetpuck73 - it said your friends list was full.

It seems like the auction house is a huge bonus to having a Gold membership. You can find some pretty decent deals on there. I spent 30 minutes last night just checking out cars. You can get some cars for 1/2 price.

A couple thing's I've noticed:

1) It seems cars are somehow equalized if you bring a high powered car into a race with a bunch of other lower powered cars. I purchased a Mazdaspeed3, it's got a performance rating of like 380. I tried it out in the intro 5-door race with Honda Fit's etc and it wasn't a cakewalk like I would have expected it to be. Sure I could win, but I wasn't blowing by the Honda Fits & Chevy Aveos like it would in real life.

2) RWD seems like the bane of my existence. I need to tweak the sensitivity of the gamepad a little.... but the ease in which you spin out is nuts. I've got a 180hp Mazda Miata and I can do donuts like crazy just driving along the track.

for your RWD problem, just dont accelerate too hard in a turn and youll be good... took me a while to get used to my 600hp M3. if youre still having oversteer issues, tweak everything that deals with understeer/oversteer in the "Tuning" menu. downforce, roll bars, and if you have a limited slip diff... tuning your diff can pretty much reduce all of your spinning out issues (if you have it installed, its a little pricey).

Just wait til you get the SRT-10 ACR, I had a hard time getting it to break lose on turns and it was pushing 721hp with a TT setup. My favorites are all the old euro rally cars (lancia, renault, fiat, audi, ect), I like to tune them so they get more power to the rear wheels then take them to the benchmark track.
