Default Vga sound through computer.

This is what ive done so far:
Hooked Vga to source 2 in monitor, pluged the 2 (red and white) Av cables into 2xav-to-3.5mm male. and plugged it into the blue input on the back of my computer for sound, so i can use its 5.1 surround for it, (there is no imput on the back of the surround sound system so i have to go through the computer.
Ok the sound wouldnt play when the xbox was on so i installed audicy or somethink then selected microphone input on the program so the sound could be heard but there is a 1/4 sec delay for the sound and it annoys me. Is there any other way to do this with no sound delay, eg make the sound play without the program of somethink?
thanks

You won't get 5.1 sound out of it unless your PC has a digital input.

Best route is to buy a set of speakers.

Thats nothing more than speaker fill. That's not 5.1.

When I plug something in the line in, the sound doesn't get delayed. I'm going to be doing the same thing when my VGA cable and the 3.5mm adapter comes.
