Default Xbox Live connection

So I am going to be getting my live membership soon, but am really worried about gaming connections since I have dsl at my house. I just ran a speedtest.net test, and have pasted my results. Do you think I will have any problem playing with this connection? Thanks.

It's connections like those that make it un-enjoyable for people with good connections. I'm certain you will experience lag.

I can upgrade to 6mbps for only $10 more, so I will do that. Just wanted to see if it was necessary before doing it. That should be plenty fast enough, right?

Yes, the update would be necessary for a good online gaming experience for both you, and others. Where do you live? Your location may play an important role as service is limited in certain areas. By limited service I mean some areas don't offer extremely high levels of connection. I am not saying because you live far from the server your connection will be bad, that is a factor in life everyone needs to face lol.

I can't figure out where my DSLAM is located, any idea how I do that. Also, my provider, AT&T offers 6mbps for just $10 a month, so I'm going to upgrade to that.

Are you guys joking? The upload kinda stinks, but that should be more than enough to play a game. Maybe he could worry if he was hosting games, but as I understand Xbox Live is all hosted on MS dedicated servers.

Increasing the plan and speeds isn't going to help his ping. ~80ms ping is pretty standard for DSL connections in most areas.

Not counting gaming, I would upgrade the plan just to have faster internet. We went from a 1.5mbps down plan to a 7mbps down plan and it is like night and day difference.
